Please read before placing an order

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By placing an order with Sandys Cake Shelf, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before transferring any money. By transferring money, you are confirming that you have read and understood the following:

 

Deposits and Payments:

 

To secure an order with Sandy’s cake Shelf a non-refundable, non-transferable, deposit is required via bank transfer or cash. No order is secure until this deposit is received.

 

The remainder of the balance is due in cash on collection of the cake (wedding cakes differ.... see section entitled wedding orders). If you’d prefer to pay the balance via bank transfer, this must be cleared in my account (and be confirmed by myself) before the cake is collected.

For cakes ordered with 7 days or less until the cake is required, payment is required in full at time of booking.

 

All cakes remain the property of Sandy’s Cake Shelf until payment is made in full.

 

Cake Changes:

 

Please notify me of any changes you wish to make to your order no less than 2 weeks prior to the due date. Changes made after this time may incur a charge.

 

 

Cancellation:

 

Should you need to cancel your order, for whatever reason, the full deposit will be retained.

In the unlikely event that I am forced to cancel an order through no fault of the customer, all money paid will be refunded.

 

Collection/Delivery:

 

All cake collection dates/times must be agreed in advance. The customer is responsible for notifying me if they are unable to meet the agreed time for collection.​

 

Once the cake has left my site, it is no longer my responsibility and therefore I cannot be held accountable for any damage caused. Cakes should be transported flat (not on a sloped car seat or knee). The boot or footwell of the front passenger seat are the best places to place the cake. These areas must be free of any loose items that may damage the cake during transit. Please drive carefully!

I make every effort to ensure my cakes are stable and, if transported correctly, there should be no issues.

Cakes must be stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and heat. Do NOT place in a refrigerator.

Allergen Disclaimer:

 

Whilst I make every effort to use separate utensils, wash/sterilise all equipment before every use and store free from ingredients away from regular ingredients, there is always a small risk of cross contamination and as such, I cannot 100% guarantee allergen free products.

Sandy’s Cake Shelf accepts no liability for customers suffering allergic reactions.

 

 

Non-edible items:

 

You will be advised on collection which items from the list below are present in your cake. It is the customers' responsibility to ensure that these are removed before consumption...

  • Support dowels/straws

  • Ribbons

  • Cocktail sticks

  • Wires

  • Flower picks

  • Cake cards

  • Dry spaghetti

 

 

Wedding Orders:

 

A £50 initial non-refundable deposit is required to secure the date with Sandy’s Cake Shelf. Then 50% is due 4 months before the date and the final 50% is due 1 week before the date. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation of your order.

 

Please arrange a time with your venue that will be suitable to deliver and set up your cake. A photograph of the cake will be taken prior to my departure to verify that the cake has been set up and left in perfect condition. Sandy’s Cake Shelf cannot take any responsibility if damage occurs after my departure.

 

If you opt for fresh flowers on your wedding cake, it is the customers' responsibility to liaise with the florist to determine the type of flowers to be used. Please note that some flowers are highly toxic. It is the customers' responsibility to ensure that any fresh flowers displayed on or next to the cake do not contain pesticides and are food safe.

 

Sandy’s Cake Shelf do not take any responsibility for any damage to the cake from the placement of fresh flowers on the cake.

 

 

Photographs:

 

All cakes are photographed before leaving my site and I will use these to add to my portfolio and promote my work. All photos taken belong to and are copyrighted to Sandy’s Cake Shelf 

 

 

Complaints:

 

In the unlikely event that there is an issue with your order, the cake must be returned to me within 24 hours of the event so that I can inspect the cake. Any refunds/discount offered is at the sole discretion of Sandy’s Cake Shelf and all decisions are final.

 

No refund/discount will be given if a Cake has been stored incorrectly or kept beyond the recommended use by date.
